Japanese charms

Little Girl Power
Nara Yoshitomo is one of my favourite illustrators in Asia. I went to his exhibition held in Bangkok in 2006 and was surprised to see his works spanning across various media from canvas to clay model. His talk was both entertaining and eye-opening. The little girl, without name and definite gender, was the subject of many of his inspirations.

A corner of the exhibition space was turned into a studio where Nara works. It gives a sense of real setting with his favourite music playing in the background.

His favourite beer to keep him company on those sleepless nights while he was creating art pieces turned out to be Chang beer, the cheapest and the strongest beer in Thailand.

His studio was mocked up at the exhibition
hall in Silpakorn university, Bangkok.
